A splendid site with magnificent far-reaching views of the city and county. Very little of the mediaeval castle remains but the fabulous mansion built by the Duke of Newcastle is very impressive. Friendly staff. Lovely cafe. Lots for children to do. Entrance fee quite high, but children are free.

Get a £15 ticket for the year. The Robin Hood exhibition is interactive but not for young children, which was a real shame. The play area is a great use of space.

Beau Château et park. Si vous n'êtes pas un grand fan de peinture il n'y à pas d'intérêt à aller à l'intérieur pour le prix. Le sous-sol est dédié à des jeux interactifs pour enfants plutôt sympa.

We had a fantastic time at Nottingham Castle Museum & Art Gallery! It’s the perfect mix of art and history, set in a beautiful location with amazing views over the city. The art collection is really impressive, with a great mix of classic and modern works. We were lucky to catch the Claude Monet exhibition! Seeing Monet’s work up close, along with paintings from other famous Impressionist artists like Renoir and Pissarro, was an incredible experience. The history exhibits are just as good. The museum does a great job of telling Nottingham’s story, from medieval times to the present. There’s lots about Robin Hood, the castle’s past, and even some underground caves to explore! The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the whole place had a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. It’s easy to walk around, and there’s plenty to see without feeling overwhelmed. If you’re visiting Nottingham, this museum is a must-see! Whether you love art, history, or just exploring cool places, you won’t be disappointed. Entry price for adult £15 per person and additional £5 for the caves which takes around 45mins.

Really disappointed at the modernisation and internal plastering. Even this rebuild is historical and it was all covered up inside, it felt like a contemporary building. The modern art inside was hilarious, including a pair of high street shoes from 1994! Absolutely not what I expected from an ancient site with so much history. The cave tour guide Keri was superb but considering how many caves there are, what we were shown was incredibly disappointing. We saw almost nothing of brewhouse yard, ushered out as soon as we arrived there with the gate locked behind us. Other castles in England are shown off much better than Nottingham which is a huge shame given how important this place was in history.

Me and my boyfriend paid the castle a visit whilst I was in Nottingham for work. We went on the cave tour run by tour guide Barry. It was excellent, highly recommend doing it with him he was amazing. The pub by the castle which is apparently the oldest pub in the U.K. built in 1180 is well worth paying a visit and we enjoyed the exhibitions in the castle aswell Great little day out!

To say it is the most underwhelming place I've ever been to is an insult to the underwhelming places I have been to.
